ATI Radeon HD 5970
So, as it has already been said, indeed a new star has risen above the sky–line of today’s 3D game graphics world — Radeon HD 5970. The appearance of this novelty was natural and expected, and, in essence, it has repeated the way of its ideological predecessor, Radeon HD 4870 X2, and, like it, Radeon HD 5970 has brought an unseen before level of productivity to thirsty for speed gamers. At present time none of the game graphic solutions can rival with the ATI/AMD. Download ATI Radeon hd 5970 driver.
Technically, Radeon HD 5970 resembles much Radeon HD 4870 X2, but it uses new generation RV870 «Cypress» graphics processors, and it does not use the Sideport technology, which has not proved to be good, either. In other respects, this is a classical CrossFireX solution, realized on one printed circuit card. It supports all the modern standards, including DirectX 11, but it has inherited from the earlier ATI CrossFire systems their main drawback, which is peculiar, however, to Nvidia SLI technology too, and namely — the dependence of the maximal productivity on program support for multi–GPU in games and drivers. Results, received in the Need for Speed: Shift, have pointed at this drawback once again.
